Le-Coutts Stud in the heart of Hampshire UK is proud to present our Friesian horse “Fred” (stable name) at stud.
This world class horse has the best of breeding. His sire – “Haitse 425” was World Friesian Champion in 2008, he also competes at grand prix in the Netherlands. His grand sire is the legendary “Jasper 366” – MULTIPLE world champion. Now at 25, his grandfather is so renowned the show has given him his own display and people come just to see him, it happens every year, they come from all over the world! His dam is “Marigje D” – A top class AA mare. His grand dam “Jeldau Fan” is a “Model” AAA (Can’t get much better than this).
Fred has a super mentality, full of presence and moves with power and elasticity, he loves learning and is workmanlike, sound, tough, and bold.
Fred hacks, schools, and travels with stallions and mares and turns out next to them. He is also kind enough to run out with pigs, alpacas, goats, and chickens. All this done during stud work.
Fred is very photogenic, and his portraits have won competitions and awards. Fred was sought out by a professional photographer for filming by the BBC. His photo went on public display in Winchester on the 17th April, 2022 and another of his photos will be going on display at West Quay in Southampton soon.
We have photos of him with no bridle, saddle, or riding aids, being ridden and shown off – he loves his job.
The Friesian horse is a breed of horse from Friesland, a province of the Netherlands. They are publicly recognised in the UK as the “Lloyds Bank horse”. The breed is graceful and nimble for its size, The impressive Friesian horse is now growing in numbers and popularity, proving to excel in high level dressage Grand Prix. Cross breeding has proved to be extremely successful in many areas of competition. Also, a great family horse being kind and strong.
